"I bought this for our big ole boys' bedroom which is shared by sons of varying ages who have varying bedtimes. It allows the older boys to change by "lantern-light" without disturbing the younger sleepers. It also emits enough light to dispel the bedtime willies for those younger ones. It is extremely handsome, well made and I love the fact that it has two settings and actually PLUGS IN. I am fed up with battery-operated contraptions for many reasons. I researched many lanterns before deciding on this one and I'm so glad I did. Actually, I think this was the best purchase I made all year."

A little bright for a nightlight

"We have the blue version and LOVE the look. It's a little bright for our one-year-old son's room as a nightlight, but it's the perfect amount of light for our bedtime routine: two books, favorite part of the day and then time for him to put himself to sleep."

"I bought the blue lantern for my 8-year old son's teehouse. It works well and has two settings, one that you can read by and one for use as a night light.
It goes great with the nautical flags that I also purchased and love! Both are of great quality and were worth every penny.
Very Satisfied."

"My son loves this light in his nautical themed room. The colors offered are great-not pastel or primary like most others-and it is classic looking so it will last into his older years. It will also transition into another theme if we choose to change his room."

"The two way switch makes this light very vesatile. I leave it on the brighter setting while my son falls asleep and then turn it to the low setting when he is sleeping. It is ruggedly made and fits nicely with a train theme."

"We got this for our son's room when we separated him and his twin sister, giving them each big kid rooms. We wanted him to have a boyish room (since he'd been sharing with his sister), and this fits in perfectly. We got the red one and love it, but the color isn't the bright red you typically see with boys things. It is a very deep, dark, almost burgendy."

"My son received this as a gift for his second birthday, and we absolutely love it! For his birthday, we gave him a "big boy bedroom" with an outdoorsy theme and this light fits in perfectly. It gives his bedroom a much more cozy feel than his regular lamp did, and we love that we can have the light set on dim AND normal light. Great buy! I'm glad I had added this to his birthday registry!"

"Love the light itself; charming and matches well with the nautical theme we used for my 2 YO boy. However, even on the low setting, it's very bright; you could almost read by it. We're looking for another nightlight now."

"We bought the red night light for our son's room and love the fact that it doesn't look to kiddish or cutesy. It will work well with many types of decor and the two light settings are a nice feature. As a night light, it does much better than a wall socket night light if your child needs more than just a glow in the room."

"We love this night light. We were looking for something unique, rather than the typical plug in, and were very happy to find this lantern. Two great reasons to buy: it stays cool to the touch and has two switches so you can dim the light after reading a bedtime book."
