Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? By Bill Martin, Jr

A big happy frog, a plump purple cat, a handsome blue horse, and a soft yellow duck - all parade across the pages of this delightful book. Children will immediately respond to Eric Carle's flat, boldly colored collages. Combined with Bill Martin's singsong text, they create unforgettable images of these endearing animals. Not a fan
"I know this is a classic, and I love Eric Carle's illustrations (and other books), but this book is a bit of a bore. My daughter isn't all that into it either (she loves books, so she reads it, but not as much as others)."

Fun classic
"Great book! My one year old started loving this at 9 months. Has a great rhythm, not too many words to slow down an impatient audience, and the illustrations are in the typically awesome Eric Carle style. Teaches animals and colors. We love to read this book!"

predictable book good for toddlers
"This is one of those books in which toddlers can predict what's coming and participate after a few reads. Fun for toddlers, but not as much fun for Mom or Dad."

Carle is King
"We love Eric Carle in our house. This is a great book for little ones and it exposes them to a variety of animals. My children love the repetition in the text and I love Carle's illustrations. Having this book in board book format also allows for some fun book nibbling."

Great way to learn about unique animals
"The bear series by Eric Carle and Bill Martin Jr. is classic literature for the tiniest tots. Brown Bear, Brown Bear is unique in that it highlights a number of specific species that are not as common in zoos, etc. So it gives babies a great learning tool for exploring the natural world--right from the comfort of their homes. My baby loves the colorful and whimsical illustrations too. This is a hit in our home."

a classic!
"my son loves this and the other similar books (Panda Bear, Polar Bear), and has since about 6 or 7 mos old. the rhythmic words and simple yet bright illustrations really caught his attention at a young age, and now he enjoys reciting the books with me (at a few months shy of 3 yrs old). the ending provides him an opportunity to test his memory of the sequence of animals. love it!"
