"I was so excited about getting and using this chair, and I can honestly say that until my daughter started finger foods I was thrilled with it. It takes up precious little space in our cramped Manhattan apartment, it is not a punishment to look at like those big plastic behemoths, and I looked forward to sitting at the table and marking my daughter's development well into the future with this chair.
Then came finger foods. Yes, I purchased the $90 Stokke tray (a total waste because it moves if you breathe on it, let alone if you pound on it like an average toddler), and we tried feeding her both with and without it. I didn't know before we got here, but at this age they really need a tray to work out feeding themselves, though I think/hope it is a short phase.
Now we have to buy another expensive high chair for the interim before we can go back to using this one. Oy. Also, could the straps on the harness be any more difficult to adjust? I love the theory behind this chair, I'm just disappointed that it hasn't panned out for us as well as I'd hoped."
