"Point to be noted: in the "View in Room " photo, the white veneer on the Big Kahuna bookcase looks bold and striking; out of the box & (easily) assembled, the bookcase actually has a mellow, soft white finish that allows the wood grain to show through. Having said, that I am very, very happy with this purchase. It isn't easy to find sensibly priced children's furniture that does not gas off formaldehyde. Moreover, this bookcase is unexpectedly handsome: the mellow white finish and the shape of the shelves resonate with my memory of old-school long surfboards. And a quick Web search yielded that the bookcase was made in my baby girl's home state of Indiana. How could she NOT have this item in her nursery? To summarize, kudos to Ecotots for its environmentally & health-conscious company mission and stylin', made-in-the-USA products. As my daughter grows up, I'm looking forward to adding more Ecotots furniture to her bedroom."
