"Santa brought this for our then-one-year-old daughter last Christmas. It was a while before she was big enough to actually ride on it, but a year later she still loves playing with it daily. Not to mention we both love the way it doesn't look like just another toy that got left out in the living room. It actually looks like a decorative piece and gets loads of compliments from all our guests. Made of very high quality materials -- I'm sure it's a toy we'll hang on to and pass down."

"We gave my son the silver speedster last Christmas and he has been zooming around our house ever since. I loved the vintage styling and especially the working steering wheel, which many other cars we looked at did not have. The vehicle is very sturdy, a necessity for an active 3-year-old. We were thrilled with this purchase!"

"This is the cutest little car! I ordered the yellow speedster for my nephew and it is a great gift! The quality is wonderful, and I thought the assembly was quite easy. For the reviewer that commented that it smelled like smoke when they took it out of the package: I thought the same at first when we opened the box, but then soon realized that it was the rubber tires that were giving off a strong odor. We've had it out of the box for several weeks now, and the smell has dissipated. The car is high quality and we can't wait to give it to our nephew for his first birthday!"

"My 2 and a half year old son picked the yellow flamed speedster....Its a real nice toy, very good quality, not like all that plastic junk toys thats on the market today. I would reccomend this ride on toy for all active children. I do wish that I would have seen the fire engine first, my son is really into trucks!"

Cute, but practical?

"This is something I think any little guy would want, but mine at one could not quite get the hang of it. Then at six months later he was too big, and wanted one to pedal... I recomend seeing if your kids are into walking and pushing cars before you buy. Ours did not get used, however the quality is terrific (even gives you spare "hubcaps") And of course it is ADORABLE ..."

"The Silver Speedster was the gift of the year for our Grandson at Christmas. With it's vintage style, it appears to be an antique. The Speedster is an excellent value and should last for years, providing enjoyment for more than one small child.
You won't be disappointed with the sturdy, all steel body. I found this in the catalog and couldn't wait to order it for our little Justus."

Looked cool but awkward to assemble and use

"I bought the Silver Speedster as a gift for a 1 year old boy. I thought it looked cool, I liked the "1" on the side and it states it is for ages 1 and up. The box was sent to me so we could assemble and bring it to the party. The package was not a very attractive arrival - just a plain brown factory box and the assembly was more involved that I expected. The oddest part of it all, was the truly overwhelming stench of cigarette/cigar smoke from inside the factory box! The all metal car actually stunk of smoke for a few days! Thankfully we had time to assemble and air it out before the party. I would have been very embarrassed if it had shipped directly to the family in that state. Now about the car itself: The age range seems off to me, as there were a few 1 year olds at the party and when seated on the car none of them could touch feet to the floor. The steering is not very smooth. The "comfy seat" is hard plastic. The rubber tires are nice and quiet on the floors. The metal body had a very minor dent on bottom edge on arrival, not worth exchanging and no one noticed but me. The best feature is the cool and unique look. The parents of the boy seemed impressed with the toy, and the boy was interested in it, but he couldn't really play with it. He probably will not until he turns 2. Much better suited for 2-3+ years. I would not buy it again, but I wasn't disappointed in the gift once it was all assembled and aired out. It was impressive and unique, just not very user friendly."
